In 2006, a group of seasoned specialty auto finance executives came together to form Exeter Finance Corp. The partners sought a return to a relationship-based business that has been all but lost in the impersonal world of automated lending practices. Based in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, Exeter plans an expansion that will place a local branch in each major market across the continental United States. The success of this expansion will be entirely based on the foundation of strong dealer relationships.
...the name
In 50 A.D. Exeter was founded as the southernmost Roman stronghold on the isle of Great Britain. For nearly 2,000 years, the city stands as a singular strategic outpost from William the Conqueror to the Battle of Britain in World War II. The city withstood two millennia of change, and yet continues to thrive on a strong foundation of commerce, culture, and education.
The world of auto finance has been one of rapid technological change, with many companies coming and going. The partners believe that some things in this business should never change, and are committed to building a foundation on local, personal dealer relationships. The choice of the name Exeter is symbolic of that commitment.

Local Underwriting - As we grow, we will place a local branch in each major market. Each branch manager is empowered to meet the unique needs of their local dealers. Our underwriters understand the special needs of the non-prime borrower, and offer flexible programs and opportunities to negotiate.
Local Funding - Our funding staff is a key part of the local branch team. Each funding specialist understands the need for prompt, reliable dealer communication and the fastest possible funding speed.
Local Relationships - Because no two dealers are alike with respect to serving the needs of their customers, no company can produce a single, rigid template that adequately supports individual dealers. For this reason, Exeter is committed to branch service that will provide personal attention, creative solutions, and fast turnaround.
