Exeter values our veterans

November is National Veterans and Military Families month and a time to acknowledge the tremendous sacrifices our military and their families make. In the financial services industry, we all work diligently to uphold the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) to protect lending for active duty service members and their families. At Exeter, we also prioritize honoring service members and veterans in a variety of special ways in years past, present and future.

Armed Forces Bowl partnership

This year, we’re excited to be a sponsor of the Armed Forces Bowl, which happens on Dec. 22 in Fort Worth, Texas. As an extension of our partnership, our employees who are military service members will receive complimentary tickets to attend the game with their families.

Wounded Warrior Run

Each year, Exeter sponsors employees who wish to volunteer, run, or walk in the Annual Wounded Warrior Military Miles 5K, 10K, and half marathon in Keller, Texas. Anywhere from 50-100+ Exeter employees participate each year, which has led to $12,000 in sponsorships that benefit Fisher House Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project and Team Red, White & Blue.

Vehicles for Veterans & employee giving

Every November, in honor of Veterans Day, we feature Vehicles for Veterans as our featured organization on Exeter’s employee giving portal. Employees can log in and donate any time of the year. Donations can also be made through the giving portal to other military-focused non-profit organizations of an employee’s choice.

Flag presentation ceremony

Exeter has honored military veterans at the company by hosting a flag presentation ceremony. Official-sized U.S. flags were properly folded, placed in a flag display case and presented to self-identified military veterans at the company.

These are just a few ways we can give back to the military community for all its members have done, and are willing to do, to protect our freedoms. In the words of our President & Chief Operating Officer and U.S. Navy veteran, Brad Martin, “Service to this country is a great call, and it is answered by more than a million soldiers, airmen, sailors and marines.”
