Honoring our veterans

By Jason Grubb, CEO, Exeter Finance

Veterans Day is a time for us to pay our respects to those who have served in the U.S. military. For one day, we stand united in respect for all the men and women who have proudly worn a uniform in defense of our nation.

Originally, the holiday was called Armistice Day. It fell on Nov. 11 to commemorate the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. However, in 1954, the holiday was changed to "Veterans Day" to account for all veterans in all wars.

On this Veterans Day 2020, I want to extend our gratitude to everyone in the service today and to all those who have served in the past. This includes our Exeter colleagues and the countless professionals in automobile dealerships across America who have served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard.

We appreciate their courage and commitment to freedom, and we’re honored to consider each and every one of them a friend of Exeter.
