It’s all about the people

If you want your employees to take good care of your customers, take good care of your employees.

At Exeter Finance, one of the many people who takes good care of our employees is our Chief Human Resources Officer, Michelle Whatley. She leads the team that recruits, hires, trains, retains and supports well over 1,000 Exeter employees. We think she’s great at it, and we’re not alone in that thinking.

Recently, we learned that due to all she has accomplished professionally, Michelle was named to the “2020 Women in Auto Finance” list by Auto Fin Journal and Cherokee Media Group!

Michelle has worked in auto finance for about 20 years and at Exeter since 2016. She is a key member of our executive leadership team, and she has helped guide our team members through some incredible growth these past few years. The publication said it recognized Michelle and the other award recipients because they’re some of the “most dedicated and talented professionals” in our industry, and we couldn’t agree more.

We’re especially happy about Michelle’s recognition because it marks two years in a row that an Exeter leader was named to this prestigious industry list. Michele Rodgers, our Chief Information Officer, was named in 2019. We’re working hard to ensure we’ve created equal opportunity for everyone at Exeter, and we see this as validation we’re on the right path.

As part of the recognition, Michelle was featured in a recent trade journal article about the 2020 Women in Auto Finance honorees. She will also have the opportunity to participate in a panel discussion at an industry conference in November. We’re incredibly grateful for what she has done for us at Exeter and very proud of her for receiving this wonderful recognition. Congratulations, Michelle!
