Leveraging technology to enhance transparency

When it comes to buying and selling cars, the need for transparency has never been higher. According to a recent article by Auto Finance News1, both auto dealers and consumers agree more transparency is a good thing. We couldn’t agree more!

One important way we’ve supported and promoted transparency in recent years is by leveraging technology. We’ve relied on it to enhance the experience of both our dealer partners and consumers who then, in turn, become our customers. For example, in 2014, we introduced auto-decisioning on submitted applications and worked to fully adopt eContracting channels and pass-through options that our dealers use now on a regular basis. Both provide speed in processing and decision making, which gives dealers and customers answers much faster and more transparently.

More recently, we’ve taken additional steps in the past two years to enhance transparency by building exceptional dealer and customer portals. Our DealerPortal puts control over every deal back in the hands of our dealer partners by allowing them to access live funding notes on every application. It also lets them chat directly with an Exeter team member about the deal in real-time.

In a recent news article about the portal, Jerad Brown, Senior Vice President of Originations at Exeter, noted the new portal is especially helpful to dealers who prefer to keep eyes-on their deals and follow along the credit approval and funding processes. Plus, with callback integration through Dealertrack and RouteOne, it’s easy for them to keep in touch with us and know the latest about each and every deal they submit.

Similarly, we’ve launched a newer version of our customer-facing payment portal, MyAccount, recently as well. We released a new interface last year, which provides Exeter customers online access to their loan information 24/7/365. It has streamlined and simplified the user experience, and it puts each customer in the driver’s seat. Whether they’re taking care of business on a desktop computer, tablet or smart phone, they can make payments, see account information and receive messages quickly, simply and transparently.
