Exeter Finance LLC, a leading indirect auto finance company, has announced that Bethany Slomski-Rangel, Vice President Associate General Counsel, was one of five women – and the first at Exeter – to be awarded the 2023 Uplift Move Makers Award by Women in Consumer Finance. The honor was first announced in October and will be formally presented at the Women in Consumer Finance’s annual conference this week in Palm Springs, California.
“Bethany has been such a tremendous value-add to our legal department,” Tim Patterson, Exeter’s Senior Vice President Associate General Counsel, said of Slomski-Rangel in the award submission. “Having oscillated between legal and compliance roles, as in-house and as outside counsel and compliance partner, she has already earned a reputation of bearing a wealth of experience and talent in all things related to consumer finance in her relatively short career.”
Slomski-Rangel came to Exeter in 2018 as a seasoned industry professional with a well-established track record in the dynamic realm of consumer finance. Her extensive legal and compliance expertise spans the financial services sector, where she has represented Fintech, publicly traded institutions, privately held companies and startups. Today, she diligently oversees all tactical and strategic regulatory compliance for the enterprise as Exeter’s Vice President Associate General Counsel.
“Eleanor Roosevelt once said, ‘For your own success to be real, it must contribute to the success of others,’” Slomski-Rangel said. “Throughout my life, I’ve been the recipient of unwavering familial support and amazing mentorship by a diverse group of leaders. It is my hope that my award empowers people to keep climbing in their careers, while never forgetting to reach back to help others.”
The Women in Consumer Finance annual conference is tailored toward high-potential women at all levels in the consumer finance industry and strives to foster connections and meaningful experiences for attendees. This year’s conference takes place in Palm Springs, California, from Dec. 11-13.
